MSSL receives NASA Early Career Faculty (ECF) award
Prof. Arya awarded grant from NASA STMD to advance solar reflector technology for the Moon
We are proud and honored to receive a 2024 NASA Early Career Faculty (ECF) award from NASA's Space Technology Mission Directorate (STDM). This grant will support a 3-year effort to advance lightweight deployable solar reflectors that can direct power to landers and rovers in permanently shadowed regions in the polar regions of the Moon. Origami-inspired folding methods will allow us to pack large reflectors into small volumes for transit to the Moon.
